License Terms
This page states the license you're buying when you purchase the VCOS Handbook. It's the same terms described in the handbook's own Licensing & Updates section, the pricing page, and the FAQ — this page just puts them in one place, in full.
Whatever apps you build using VCOS are entirely yours, unrestricted, at every tier. What's licensed is the handbook itself: you can use it, but you can't redistribute it, resell it, or feed it into AI training.
License tiers
Three tiers, differing only in seats and support — not in what you're allowed to build.
Individual
- One founder, one person using the handbook and repository.
- Unlimited personal and commercial apps built with the system — no cap on how many products you ship.
- This is the default tier at both the launch and regular price points.
Team
- Up to five seats on one team.
- Shared repository access — the whole team works from the same companion repository under one license, rather than each person needing their own Individual purchase.
- Same unrestricted-app rights as Individual: unlimited personal and commercial apps, per seat.
Enterprise
- Unlimited seats — no per-person cap.
- Priority update delivery: when a new v2.x update ships, Enterprise license holders get it first, ahead of the general release rollout.
- A direct line for onboarding support — a real point of contact for getting a team set up on VCOS, rather than working it out from the handbook alone.
- Same unrestricted-app rights as Individual and Team.

What you own
Every app you build using VCOS — the pipeline, the gates, the scoring models, the process described in the handbook — is entirely yours. Personal, commercial, sold, given away, whatever you want to do with it. This is true at every license tier, with no restriction and no royalty owed back to VCOS. The license covers the handbook and the companion repository, not the software you build using what you learned from them.
What's prohibited under every tier
- Redistribution. You can't share, post, or pass along the handbook PDF, the repository contents, or meaningful excerpts of either, to anyone outside your licensed seats.
- Resale. You can't sell, sublicense, or repackage the handbook or repository, in whole or in part, as your own product or as part of another product.
- AI training. The handbook text can't be used as training data for AI models — this applies regardless of license tier, seat count, or intended use.
These three restrictions apply identically whether you're on Individual, Team, or Enterprise. Higher tiers add seats and support, not different rights.
Updates
Minor updates (v2.x) are additive — new templates, new prompts, corrected examples, clarity improvements — and are free for all license holders, delivered through the companion repository. Major updates (v3.0+) change the system structurally and are priced separately, at a preferential rate for existing owners rather than full price. Every change is logged in the repository CHANGELOG before it ships: if it isn't in the changelog, it didn't happen.
Enterprise license holders receive v2.x updates on priority delivery, as noted above; the update policy itself — what's free versus what's priced separately — is the same across all tiers.
If terms are violated
If a license holder redistributes, resells, or otherwise breaches these terms, the license for that account is void, and further access to updates and the companion repository can be revoked. This isn't meant as a threat — it's a plain statement of what "the license is conditional on these terms" means in practice. If something looks like a violation and there's a reasonable explanation, the first step is a direct email, not an assumption of bad faith.
This page states the license terms as a product policy, in plain language, matching what's already described in the handbook and the rest of the site. It is not a substitute for a formally drafted legal license agreement, and it is not legal advice. If a dispute arises that needs formal legal interpretation — rather than a plain-language reading of what's written above — that's outside what this page can resolve.
